Bodies of Elderly Couple Found in Fenland River

The lifeless bodies of a man and woman in their 80s were pulled from a Fenland river near Chain Bridge after police were tipped off. Locals raised alarm around 8:30 AM on Saturday, spotting a car abandoned in the area for several days.

The woman’s body was discovered that afternoon. The man remained missing until police confirmed finding his body at 4:30 PM on Sunday. The area around Twenty Foot River Road was cordoned off for much of the weekend during the search.

Investigation Underway

Detective Inspector Lee Womack said the woman’s death is currently unexplained. Authorities are continuing their enquiries and are appealing for the public’s help.
