Five British Transport Police (BTP) vehicles pulled up outside East Croydon station shortly after 6pm on Sunday. Officers were called to an incident, but details remain under wraps.
Network Rail Manager Also Attends Scene
A Network Rail Mobile Operation Manager (MOM) was dispatched alongside police, indicating a serious matter. Despite the heavy police presence, services were reportedly unaffected.
Witnesses Spot Man Taken Away
Eyewitnesses waiting for a nearby tram said: “A number of officers were searching around the side of the station. One man was escorted away and questioned.”
Police Yet to Confirm Incident Details
It’s unclear if the stop and questioning were connected to the main incident. British Transport Police have been contacted for comment but have not responded yet.
