Blaze Breaks Out at ADM Fruit Factory in Erith

A fire erupted at the Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) fruit processing plant on Church Manorway, Erith, early Monday morning, forcing a full evacuation. The incident kicked off just after 10 am when a conveyor belt suddenly caught fire.

Firefighters Rush to Scene as Conveyor Belt Smoulders

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) quickly arrived alongside the London Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART). Firefighters managed to douse the flames, but the conveyor belt continued to smoulder, needing further emergency attention. One worker had to stop working and evacuate as a safety precaution.

No Injuries Reported, Investigation Underway

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported. The fire is now under control, but all operations at the factory remain temporarily suspended as authorities investigate the cause. The London Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service have been contacted for further updates.
