Firefighters Save Day After Blaze Breaks Out in Hartley Wintney Flat

Fire crews from Rushmoor and Hartley Wintney raced to a Wickham Place flat at 12:46pm yesterday after smoke was seen pouring from a first-floor bedroom.

Cylinder Removed Before Firefighters Arrived

Thankfully, the gas cylinder had already been taken out before the crews arrived, allowing it to vent safely without causing an explosion.

Two Treated for Smoke Inhalation

Emergency teams treated two people for smoke inhalation. One also suffered burns before being handed over to paramedics for further care.

Firefighters Tackle Blaze with Full Force

  • Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus doused the flames using hose reels and jets.
  • Ventilation fans helped clear thick smoke from the flat.
  • The property suffered significant fire damage.
