Drug Dealers Caged After Major Melksham Cocaine Bust
Three Jailed in Big Cocaine Operation
Connor Flower, 29, of no fixed address in Melksham, was locked up for four years and nine months after pleading guilty to cocaine supply, cannabis possession, money laundering, and possession of criminal property at Winchester Crown Court last week (07/01).
Two others also faced the judge on the same day. Matthew Hiscock, 34, from Melksham, got two years and six months for his role in the supply of cocaine. Lilybeth Rumens, 21, also of Melksham, received a suspended sentence of two years and two months, plus 150 hours of unpaid work, after admitting money laundering and allowing her premises to be used for drug dealing.
Police Crack Down on Melksham Drug Trade
The trio’s downfall came after a silver van, driven by Flower, was stopped by police in Shaw back in November 2019. Officers from the Operation Fortitude team found a large stash of cocaine inside the silver Vivaro.
Further investigations uncovered phone and financial records revealing the involvement of Rumens and showed profits from the drug trade funded luxury Rolex watches, high-end cars, and designer clothes.
Police Urge Public to Help Tackle Drug Crime
“Class A drugs blight our communities,” said Detective Sergeant Darren Penny from the Op Fortitude team. “Many think drug dealers have untouchable status, but cases like this prove otherwise.”
“We want the public to feel confident reporting drug crime. You’ll be treated confidentially. Help us bring these criminals to justice.”
