Portsmouth Gears Up for Massive Queen’s 90th Street Party Bash!
Portsmouth residents are being urged to throw epic street parties on Sunday, 12 June, to celebrate the Queen’s landmark 90th birthday. The city wants neighbours to join forces and fill the streets with fun – timed to match the huge party The Mall in St James’ Park is hosting, reportedly the biggest ever!
Free Road Closures for Party Hosts
Worried about costs? Don’t be! Organisers won’t pay a penny for road closures or temporary signs. All they need to do is fill out an application and send it to the council’s events team by midday on Friday, 15 April.
Council Boss Calls for Citywide Celebration
Cllr Donna Jones, Portsmouth City Council Leader, said: “Portsmouth has a strong history of bringing the community together and this is the perfect opportunity for neighbours, friends and family to get the bunting out and do just that. I hope as many people as possible host street parties and the city celebrates Her Majesty’s birthday in style.”
