Animal lover Karen Gittoes from Marwell Wildlife is on a quest to smash fundraising records with this year’s “£££’s for Pooches” Charity Dog Walk. Her goal? To beat last year’s totals and help abused dogs and cats in desperate need across Asia and Romania.
Saving Dogs and Cats from Cruelty Abroad
Pets in Asia and Romania suffer horrendous conditions, many falling prey to the brutal meat and fur trades. Karen and her team are raising critical funds for charities and small rescue groups that provide care and shelter to these forgotten animals.
This year’s donations will support:
- K-9 Angels
- Animals Asia
- Nanu Madalina
- Pat the Dogs
These groups focus on rescuing and protecting vulnerable dogs and cats caught in cruelty overseas.
Take on the 20km Charity Dog Walk
The route is a scenic 20-kilometre loop through woodlands and coastline—perfect for dogs and their owners. It starts at 9:45am on Sunday, March 13th, by the tennis courts at Sarisbury Green.
Walkers will enjoy a lunch break at the Ferryman pub in Warsash, where generous owners have donated their function room. The walk wraps up back at Sarisbury Green around 4pm.
Open to All Walkers and Their Dogs
Every participant and their pooch will receive a goody bag as thanks for joining. “Everyone and their dogs are welcome,” Karen says.
As a charity event, all walkers are encouraged to raise sponsorship funds. Sponsorship forms are available on the event’s Facebook page.
Get ready for a day of fresh air, furry friends, and fundraising that could save lives thousands of miles away!
