Child Hurt in Three-Car Crash Near Yarmouth Shuts Main Road

Police shut the main road into Yarmouth this afternoon after a nasty three-vehicle crash near Cranmore.

Chaos on A3054

The smash happened on the A3054 Bouldnor Road between Shalfleet and Thorley. Authorities closed the road at the 1 and Groom pub. Traffic is being diverted through Thorley Village and Hill Place Lane as emergency services handle the situation.

Crash Details

The collision involved a black Volvo V60, a blue Citroen C4, and a black Ford. Armed Roads Policing officers are on scene, along with two ambulances and a patient transport vehicle from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service. An incident officer was also dispatched.

Paramedics Treat Child and Others

No one was trapped inside any of the vehicles, but paramedics are currently treating those involved. One patient is a young child, who is being carefully checked by medical staff.

Local Travel Disrupted

Local bus services are affected by the closure. Southern Vectis has confirmed Route 7 is running a revised timetable and detour. A school coach is stuck in the closure but is not involved in the crash.
