Daily COVID Death Toll Hits 621 as Total Nears 30,000
The UK faces a grim milestone as the daily Covid death toll rockets to 621, pushing the total number of fatalities perilously close to 30,000.
Testing Hits Over One Million
By 9am on May 2, over 1.1 million Covid tests had been conducted nationwide. On May 1 alone, 105,937 tests were carried out, with 825,946 people tested in total.
Cases and Deaths Climb
Of those tested, 182,260 have been confirmed positive. Sadly, as of 5pm on May 1, 28,131 patients who tested positive have lost their lives across all settings.
