Dartford Crossing to Shut Tunnels Overnight in Early July
The Dartford Crossing, the key artery linking Dartford, Kent and Thurrock, Essex, faces a series of overnight tunnel closures for vital maintenance. From July 2 to July 8, one or both tunnels will close at night, with diversions set up to keep traffic moving.
Nightly Tunnel Shutdown Schedule
- July 2–3 (Tue–Wed): West Tunnel closed 10pm–5:30am. Northbound traffic diverted via National Highways network.
- July 3–4 (Wed–Thu): West Tunnel closed 10pm–5:30am. Same diversion applies.
- July 4–5 (Thu–Fri): East Tunnel closed 10pm–5:30am. Diversion via National Highways.
- July 5–6 (Fri–Sat): East Tunnel closed 11pm–5:30am. Northbound vehicles follow diversion route.
- July 6–7 (Sat–Sun): West Tunnel closed 8pm–10am. Diversions remain in force.
- July 7–8 (Sun–Mon): West Tunnel closed 10pm–5am. Drivers must follow diversion signs.
