Woman Fears Stalker on East London DLR Train
A 37-year-old woman had a terrifying encounter after work on Friday, 17 April. At 6.15pm, she boarded a train at Shadwell DLR Station and quickly noticed a man at the station seemingly following her.
Man Mirrors Her Every Move
In an attempt to shake off the man, the woman got off at Canning Town and swiftly re-boarded the train. But the stranger mirrored her actions, keeping close behind.
Stranger Attack After Asking for Help
She finally left the train at Royal Victoria and, fearing for her safety, asked two unknown men to walk with her towards her home. They accompanied her as far as Butchers Road before leaving.
As she continued alone, the suspected stalker suddenly approached from behind and pushed her. He then fled back towards Royal Victoria Station.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
The woman suffered minor injuries including bruising to her face and a broken tooth and was treated in hospital. Police say no property was taken and the motive remains unclear.
The North East Command Unit is investigating. No arrests have been made yet.
Detectives are keen to hear from the two men who helped the victim; they are witnesses, not suspects.
