Dog Plunges Off Cliff Near Hope Gap
The Newhaven and Birling Coastguard teams were scrambled at 4:30pm on Monday, 20 November after reports of a dog falling off a cliff near Hope Gap steps in the Seaford/Cuckmere area.
Search Ends in Heartbreak
Despite a thorough search, the pooch was nowhere to be found, leaving rescuers and owners devastated.
Coastguard Warns: Don’t Risk It
Authorities are warning pet owners not to try risky cliff rescues themselves. “Your safety comes first,” they plead. If your pet is in trouble, call 999 immediately and let the trained coastguard team handle the perilous rescue.
