The crash happened just after 3pm on Monday. Emergency crews rushed to the scene when the man behind the wheel—reportedly not wearing a seatbelt—collided with the woman’s vehicle, forcing her into the central barriers.

- South East Coast Ambulance Service dispatched a land ambulance.
One lane of the contraflow was immediately shut by police to clear the wreckage.

The driver, who complained of chest pain, was taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. Thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be serious.
Highways England has since closed the M20 in both directions to carry out urgent repairs to the central barrier damaged in the crash.
