Single-Car Smash Sparks Early Morning Chaos
Just after 2am on Wednesday, December 28, emergency services rushed to Wellesley Road in Croydon following a single-car collision. The Met Police and London Ambulance Service responded swiftly to the scene.
Man Treated for Suspected Spinal Injury
The first paramedic arrived within five minutes and treated the driver, a man whose identity has not been released, for a suspected spinal injury. He was immediately flown to a major trauma centre as a precaution. Thankfully, police say he was not seriously injured.
Road Closures and Ongoing Probe
Wellesley Road was closed throughout the morning as officers investigated. So far, no other vehicles are believed to be involved and no arrests have been made. Police continue to probe the cause of the crash.
