Woman Seriously Injured in Horror Crash on A280

A woman suffered multiple serious injuries after her car was smashed in a nasty collision on the A280 at Long Furlong on Wednesday morning (September 23).

Crash Details: Black Chrysler vs White Toyota

The smash happened just before 9.30am between Findon and Clapham. A southbound black Chrysler Voyager, driven by a 25-year-old man from Crawley, collided head-on with a northbound white Toyota Aygo, driven by a 60-year-old woman.

The man and his passenger walked away with minor bumps and bruises. But the Toyota driver was rushed to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries.

Road Closure and Witness Appeal

The A280 was shut down while emergency crews worked to rescue victims, clear wreckage, and investigate the scene. It finally reopened around 3.30pm.

Police are urging anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage before the accident to come forward. Witnesses can report online or call 101, quoting Operation Envelope.
