Police Step Up Patrols to Boost Safety for Women in Swanley and New Ash Green

Officers Engage With Women and Girls

Police officers have been hitting the streets in Swanley and New Ash Green, chatting with women and girls to find ways to make the areas safer. On Wednesday 15 November, patrols spoke directly to residents and commuters, handing out questionnaires at train stations and busy shopping spots.

Over 30 Women and Girls Questioned

At least 30 females were interviewed during these patrols. Their feedback will help police shape future crime prevention strategies across the Sevenoaks district. Officers also offered practical advice on staying safe both outside and at home.

Police Committed to Keeping Women Safe

Inspector Mark Stubberfield of the West Kent Community Safety Unit said: “The general feedback from most of the females we spoke to was encouraging, in terms of how safe they felt when walking alone or visiting areas within New Ash Green and Swanley. We remain committed to doing everything we can to keep it that way. Our work with partners, pubs, restaurants, and busy transport hubs like train stations, is key to making sure women feel confident and safe when out, without fearing crime.”
