A light aircraft crash landed near the Crown and Cushions pub on Minley Road, Yateley, this afternoon. Fire crews from Hampshire, including teams from Yateley, Hartley Wintney, and Basingstoke, raced to the scene after the incident around 5pm on Monday.

Plane Hits Trees on Attempted Return to Blackbushe Airport

The plane is believed to have taken off from Blackbushe Airport and was trying to return when it hit two trees and tore off a wing. Despite the dramatic crash, both the pilot and his passenger escaped uninjured.

Investigation Underway as Pilot Escapes Before Fire Service Arrival

The pilot reportedly climbed out of the wreckage before emergency teams arrived. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) headed to the site Monday evening to start gathering details for their official crash report.
