Fareham man arrested over Portsmouth stabbing

Officers investigating an assault in which a man was stabbed twice in Portsmouth on Saturday (April 20) have made an arrest. A 24-year-old man from Fareham has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He’s been released from custody but remains under investigation. A 31-year-old Portsmouth man suffered two stab wounds during the incident and is being treated at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham. His injuries aren’t thought to be life threatening. The incident happened initially in Tangiers Road near the Co-op and then moved into Lynton Grove. Officers like to hear from anyone who saw or heard any of the assault or what led to it, or anyone who has Dash Cam footage or CCTV.
