Tragedy on the M20: Man in 60s Dies as Lorry Crashes Near Ashford
Fatal Crash Shuts Coastbound M20 Slip Road
Kent Police have launched a probe after a deadly lorry crash on the M20 near Ashford. The driver, a man in his 60s, died when the vehicle left the coastbound carriageway at Junction 9 slip road at around 3.16pm on Thursday, 5 June 2025.
Emergency crews from South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene but were unable to save the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Police Hunt for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is piecing together how the lorry veered off the road. They urgently want any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage showing the lorry’s movements before the crash.
“We are seeking any information or footage that could help us establish how this tragic incident occurred,” a police spokesperson said.
