Blaze Breaks Out at Folkestone’s Gran Burstin Hotel

Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a fire on the 13th floor of the Gran Burstin Hotel in Marine Parade, Folkestone. Eight fire engines were scrambled due to the blaze’s high-rise location.

Quick Evacuation and Fast Firefight

Hotel staff quickly evacuated guests as emergency crews arrived. Firefighters in breathing gear tracked the blaze to a boiler room.

They doused the flames with a dry powder extinguisher, putting out the fire swiftly.

Electrical Fault Suspected, No Injuries

The fire is believed to have started from an electrical fault. To clear thick smoke from the 12th and 13th floors, crews used a large ventilation fan.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Duty of care was handed back to the hotel manager once the scene was secure.
