Blaze Breaks Out in Kensington Basement Flat
Six fire engines and 40 firefighters rushed to tackle a fire at a block of flats on Pater Street, Kensington. Flames tore through part of a three-roomed basement flat in the five-storey building.
Heroic Rescue as Woman Saved from Smoke
Wearing breathing apparatus, fire crews rescued a woman trapped inside the blazing flat. She was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation before being rushed to hospital by London Ambulance Service.
Fire Under Control Within 90 Minutes
The Brigade received the call just after 9am. Firefighters from Kensington, Hammersmith, and Fulham quickly brought the blaze under control by 10:27am. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
