Blaze Breaks Out at Pimlico Hotel – Fire Crews Rush to Scene
A fierce fire tore through a ground-floor room at a four-storey Ivy hotel on Hugh Street, Pimlico. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters raced to tackle the blaze.
Swift Evacuation and No Injuries
About 25 guests managed to escape before firefighters arrived, according to Station Commander Jon Singleton. He confirmed the fire started in a ground-floor hotel room but thankfully, no one was hurt.
“The fire started in a hotel room on the ground floor. Before the Brigade arrived, about 25 people had left the building,” said Singleton.
Firefighters Contain Blaze Quickly
The fire brigade was alerted at 12:35pm. By 1:30pm, the flames were extinguished. Crews from Soho, Chelsea, and nearby stations joined forces to bring the situation under control.
Investigation Underway
Officials are now probing the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, the hotel remains closed for safety checks.
