Car Plunges into River Thames – Firefighters Pull Off Dramatic Rescue!
Firefighters sprang into action after a car was found partially submerged in the River Thames at Thames Close, Hampton. A fire rescue unit boat was deployed to check inside the vehicle, confirming it was empty.
Swift Recovery Operation
Using a winch, crews hauled the stranded car out of the river and back onto the riverbank. Station Manager Andy Walton praised the team’s quick response. He said, “Crews worked swiftly to recover the car from the river.”
Owner Shaken but Safe
Thankfully, no one was inside the car, though the owner got quite the shock. Walton advised local residents to consider installing barriers along the riverside, warning: “This will help prevent vehicles from rolling down embankments and ending up in the water.”
Multi-Station Response
- Fire crews from Twickenham, Kingston, Heston, Battersea, and Wembley stations joined the rescue.
- The Brigade was called at 1.15pm and wrapped up by 2.20pm.
