Blaze Hits Former Hornchurch Snooker Hall – Chaos on the Streets!

Firefighters Battle Fierce Blaze

Emergency crews are scrambling to tackle a major fire at the old snooker hall on the corner of High Street and North Street, Hornchurch. Flames and thick smoke have erupted from the back of the building, with eyewitnesses capturing dramatic images of the inferno pouring through the windows. Firefighters from the London Fire Brigade are on scene, working urgently to get the blaze under control.

North Street is completely blocked off from the High Street junction all the way to Hornchurch Library as the emergency response unfolds. So far, the London Fire Brigade has not released any details on the cause or the scale of the damage.

Traffic Nightmare and Road Closures

The fire has sparked major disruption across Hornchurch:

  • North Street remains shut to all vehicles as fire engines occupy the road.
  • Drivers are stuck in slow-moving traffic on alternative routes as they avoid the closure.

Bus Routes Rerouted – Expect Delays

Transport for London (TfL) confirmed several bus routes are currently diverted:

  • Route 165: Diverted both ways via Billet Lane, skipping stops between ‘Hornchurch Town Centre’ and ‘Burnway’.
  • Routes 256 & 370: Rerouted via High Street and Billet Lane, missing stops at ‘Queen’s Theatre’ and ‘Burnway’.

These diversions will stay in place until the fire is fully controlled and roads reopen safely.

Safety Warning to Residents

Locals and businesses near North Street are urged to steer clear of the area. Officials remind the public to stay away from the scene to let emergency workers do their job without interference.
