Blaze Rips Through Derelict Building in Belvedere
A fire tore through a rundown building on Albert Road, Belvedere, sparking a major emergency response on the evening of June 7. The London Fire Brigade was alerted at 6:34 pm and scrambled four fire engines and about 25 firefighters to the scene.
Building Badly Damaged but No Injuries
The blaze engulfed most of the single-storey building, causing significant damage. Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control by 7:21 pm. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries during the incident.
Fire Crews from Erith, Bexley and Plumstead Tackle Blaze
Teams from Erith, Bexley, and Plumstead fire stations worked swiftly to contain the flames. A London Fire Brigade spokesperson confirmed:
“Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a derelict building on Albert Road in Belvedere. Most of the one-storey building was damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries. The Brigade was called at 6:34 pm, and the incident was over for firefighters at 7:21 pm. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
