Drama at Belfast Airport as Flybe Plane Makes Emergency Landing Without Nose Gear

A Flybe Bombardier Dash 8 jet pulled off a nerve-wracking emergency landing at Belfast Airport on Friday afternoon – and it touched down without its front nose wheel.

Fuel Burn-Off Before Tense Landing

The plane, carrying up to 78 passengers, took off from Belfast International at 11:20am. Shortly after, the pilot spotted a problem with the nose gear and declared an emergency just after 12:30pm.

To lighten the load, the aircraft spent two hours in the air burning fuel before making its daring descent.

Runway Shuts as Emergency Services Rush In

At 1:43pm, the plane landed nose gear-up on the main runway, causing immediate closure of Runway 25. Emergency crews quickly responded to the scene.

It’s still unclear if anyone onboard was hurt.

Flybe Responds

“We are aware of an incident involving one of our aircraft,” Flybe said. “We are gathering more information and will provide updates as soon as possible.”

Airport operations remain disrupted while investigations continue.
