Massive M25 Crash Causes Chaos Between Essex and Kent
A five-vehicle crash on the M25 anti-clockwise between Junction 30 (A13) and Junction 29 (Romford) has sparked heavy delays. Emergency services, including Essex Police, Ambulance crews, and Highways England Traffic Officers, rushed to the scene. To keep the rescue operation safe, lanes 3 and 4 remain closed.
Only Two Lanes Open as Traffic Snarls Up
Motorists can still sneak through lanes 1 and 2. But with just half the motorway operating, queues have backed up over eight miles, all the way to Junction 3 (Swanley Interchange, M20).
Travellers face an extra 60-90 minutes on top of normal journey times. Drivers are urged to plan their journeys carefully and expect delays.
UPDATE: Crash Cleared But Gridlock Remains
Good news – the crash has cleared. But don’t get too hopeful. The M25 is still grinding to a halt with roughly 10 miles of bumper-to-bumper traffic stretching back to Junction 4 near Orpington and Badgers Mount.
Delays now top 90 minutes, snarling up key routes including the A282, Dartford Crossing, A2, M2, and M20.
Motorists beware: Expect chaos in the Kent and Essex area for some time yet.
