Flat Blaze in Cranham Square Doused by Kent Firefighters
A flat fire in Cranham Square, Marden, sparked a swift emergency response on Saturday afternoon. The blaze broke out at around 2:59 PM, with Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushing three fire engines and specialist gear to the scene.
Firefighters Battle Flames with High-Pressure Jets
Wearing breathing apparatus, crews attacked the fire using high-pressure hose reel jets and main jets. Thanks to their quick action, the fire was fully under control by 4:49 PM.
Cause Linked to Careless Cigarette
Early investigations point to a poorly discarded cigarette as the accidental cause of the fire. Luckily, no injuries were reported.
A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesperson warned: “This serves as a vital reminder to dispose of smoking materials safely and never leave them unattended.”
