Friends Launch Urgent Fundraiser for Dad Left with Life-Altering Injuries After M3 Crash
Dan Elsworthy, 25, is fighting for his life after a horrific smash on the M3 near Basingstoke last Friday. The tipper truck driver was heading home from work when his vehicle collided, leaving him in critical condition. Doctors fear they may need to amputate both of his legs, and it’s unlikely Dan will ever walk again.
Tragic Crash Brings Life to a Halt
Emergency services closed the M3 for hours as medics battled to stabilise Dan at the scene. In a desperate bid to save him, a doctor even had to remove part of his foot on-site. The motorway finally reopened just after 5am Saturday morning.
Fundraiser Set Up to Help a Young Dad
Friends and family have launched a fundraising page with a target of £5,000 to support Dan’s recovery and provide vital comfort. As a devoted father of two, he faces a harsh road ahead, and every penny raised will make a difference.
Police Probe the Cause of Collision
Hampshire Constabulary is investigating what caused the crash. No other vehicles are believed to be involved, but officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
“No other vehicles are believed to have been involved, but other motorists may be able to help establish exactly what happened,” said police.
