The tipper truck driver was heading home from work when his vehicle collided, leaving him in critical condition. Emergency services closed the M3 for hours as medics battled to stabilise Dan at the scene. In a desperate bid to save him, a doctor even had to remove part of his foot on-site. The motorway finally reopened just after 5am Saturday morning.
