A huge fire broke out in the cab of an HGV carrying rounded timber on the M25 near the Darenth Interchange. Firefighters Race to Scene
Kent Fire confirmed two fire engines raced to the M25 clockwise near Junction 2 for Dartford following reports of the lorry fire. Crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze with hose reel jets. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Cause Still Unknown, Expect Delays
The fire’s cause remains a mystery. The Highways Agency has taken over duty of care, warning drivers to brace for lengthy delays. Traffic jams stretch back over ten miles, clogging up the QE2 Bridge.
