Firefighters raced to Bells Farm Road, Hadlow, at 8pm after a massive 40-metre hedge caught fire—believed to be struck by lightning.
Swift Action Stops Fire Spreading
One fire engine tackled the blaze, using two hose reel jets and water from a nearby hydrant. Crews battled the flames and spent 30 minutes damping down and carefully turning over the smouldering hedge to prevent any flare-ups.
No injuries reported as firefighters quickly brought the fiery threat under control.
