A 64-year-old man has tragically lost his life after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run on Station Road, Stechford, last Sunday.

White BMW Flees Scene

The victim was on foot opposite the Shell Garage around 1.30pm on April 18 when he was hit by a white vehicle, thought to be a BMW 1 Series. The car fled without stopping.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene, but he was pronounced dead shortly after. Police have launched a serious collision investigation, sending officers to the site.

Police Plea: Check Dashcams & Come Forward

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes said: “We are still trying to establish how this tragic incident has happened and anyone who has information and hasn’t yet spoken to an officer should get in touch as soon as possible.

“We know there were buses and cars in the vicinity at the time, so I’d urge people to check their dashcams – they might have captured vital video evidence.

“I would appeal direct to the driver of the car, who will know exactly what has happened, to do the right thing and come forward as soon as possible.

“The victim’s family have already been informed and specialist officers will be supporting them as our investigation continues. Our thoughts are with them at this sad and difficult time.”

Road Closed – Avoid the Area

A cordon remains in place around the scene. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays.
