Israeli Forces Pound Dozens of Hezbollah Targets in Lebanon
The Israeli military has launched heavy strikes on dozens of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon over the past 12 hours. Among those hit were multiple rocket launchers aimed at Israel. This latest wave of airstrikes is part of an ongoing campaign responding to rising threats on the Israeli-Lebanese border.
Death Toll Rises as Conflict Escalates
The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that recent Israeli airstrikes killed 33 people and injured 195 just yesterday. Another 11 deaths and 108 injuries were recorded on Friday. In the last two weeks alone, over 1,000 people have died and more than 6,000 wounded due to the strikes.
The strikes have also displaced over one million Lebanese, including hundreds of thousands since last Friday, turning the region into a massive humanitarian crisis.
Humanitarian Crisis Deepens Amid Cross-Border Attacks
Nasser Yassin, Lebanon’s minister coordinating government disaster response, highlighted the urgent needs of displaced families. As Hezbollah and Israel continue exchanging fire, the civilian toll keeps rising.
Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces say they intercepted a drone from the Red Sea and a missile launched by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen. The timing coincided with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s arrival at an airport, ramping up the tension further.
US Warns of Possible Border Movements; Ground Assault Expected to Be Limited
US officials have issued warnings about potential small-scale “border movements” targeting Hezbollah positions in Lebanon. ABC News reported concerns that such movements may be underway or imminent.
Israel is reportedly prepared for a limited ground operation to secure areas in northern Israel and prevent more civilians from being caught in the crossfire. However, the scale of any ground action is expected to remain restricted.
International Alarm Grows Over Regional Instability
As violence intensifies, the global community is watching closely, fearing the conflict may spiral into a broader regional war. The mounting death toll and mass displacement worsen Lebanon’s fragile situation, sparking urgent calls for restraint and peaceful solutions.
Despite international pressure, both Israel and Hezbollah remain rigid in their stances, raising fears of further escalation and involvement of other regional actors.
