Former footballer and TV pundit Jermaine Jenas has split from his wife Ellie Penfold after 16 years together. The break-up comes just months after Jenas was axed by the BBC over inappropriate text messages.

The couple married in 2011 and share three children: daughters Geneva and Olivia, and son Jacob. Jenas also has an older daughter, Sancha, from a previous relationship who lives in the US.

Jermaine Jenas, 42, was axed by the BBC earlier this year after allegations surfaced of sending inappropriate messages to female colleagues. He lost his roles as Match of the Day pundit and The One Show host in a dramatic dismissal.
