Jordan Honeyman, 30, is on trial accused of murdering Alan Lawson at a property in Largs, Ayrshire between February 2 and 4, 2024. Prosecutors allege Honeyman repeatedly punched, kicked and struck Lawson with a sharp object, then jumped from a staircase onto his head and body. Police claim the victim’s feet were scalded and he was stripped of his clothes. The trial is before Judge Lord Arthurson in the High Court, Glasgow.
Brutal Attack Allegations
The charge says Honeyman applied glue to Lawson’s injuries, forced him into a shower, but failed to seek medical help. Lawson later died on February 6 at University Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock. Prosecutors detail attempts to clean bloodstains and removal of evidence including carpets, furniture, clothes and weapons from the scene.
Chilling Video Evidence
The court heard Honeyman allegedly filmed Lawson naked, injured and covered in blood, then sent the footage to another man. A witness described receiving the video and taking screenshots showing Lawson lying bloodied and unclothed, with Honeyman visible in the recording.
Hostility And Threats
Evidence included CCTV from February 3 showing a man said to be Honeyman shouting abuse and challenges outside a neighbour’s home connected to the witness. The witness admitted he did not take the threats seriously until Honeyman appeared at his mother’s door.
Cause Of Death Confirmed
Medical examination determined that Lawson’s death was caused by thrombosis of the internal carotid artery due to head and neck injuries sustained in the assault. The trial is ongoing with further evidence expected.
