Loft Ravaged by Blaze in Barking House Fire
Chaos erupted early this morning on Kennedy Road, Barking, as a house fire tore through the loft of a two-storey terraced home. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) scrambled to the scene after reports came in at 7:52am.
25 Firefighters Battle Blaze on Kennedy Road
Almost immediately, around 25 firefighters in four fire engines launched a relentless assault on the flames. On arrival, they found the upper part of the house engulfed in flames, with rapid fire spread ripping through the loft area.
Thanks to their efforts, the blaze was brought under control within an hour, with the fire fully extinguished by 8:54am. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
Significant Loft Damage & Smoke Devastation
The fire left a significant chunk of the loft destroyed, with extensive fire and smoke damage spreading throughout the home. Photos from the scene reveal the intense impact as crews worked tirelessly to secure the property.
Cause Unknown, Investigation Underway
The London Fire Brigade spokesperson confirmed:
“Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Kennedy Road in Barking this morning.Firefighters attended a fire in a two-storey terraced house where a significant part of the loft was destroyed. The Brigade was called at 07:52 and the fire was under control by 08:54. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
