Tragedy Strikes as Four Children Die in Sutton House Blaze
A devastating fire in Sutton has left the community reeling after four young children were tragically killed in a house blaze on Collingwood Road.
Firefighters Rush In, But Horror Unfolds
Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters raced to the scene after the Brigade was alerted at 6.55pm. They found a fierce blaze engulfing the entire ground floor of the mid-terrace property.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus braved the intense flames to rescue the children. They were pulled from the burning house and given CPR on site while ambulance crews were en route.
Heartbreaking Aftermath
Despite desperate efforts, all four children were pronounced dead at hospital. The fire was finally under control by 8.36pm. Fire crews from Sutton and neighbouring stations worked through the night.
“This is an incident that has left everyone numb with profound sadness,” said a spokesperson. “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the children, the whole local community and all affected by this fire.
The welfare of our staff involved in this incident is very important to us and all of them will be offered counselling as a priority.”
Investigation Underway
The cause of the deadly fire is still under investigation as emergency services continue to support the grieving community.
