Emergency crews from Bucks Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene. The tanker was badly damaged, leaking large amounts of fuel all over the carriageway. This nasty spill has made the situation worse, forcing a full closure.
Rush-Hour Traffic Nightmare
The crash happened near junction 15, leaving thousands stuck in brutal rush-hour queues. A Bucks Fire and Rescue spokesman said:
“Crews are at the scene of a collision involving a petrol tanker and car on the M1 southbound between Junction 15 and Newport Pagnell Services.”
Minor Injuries, But No Trapping
Thankfully, no one was trapped. A man and woman suffered minor injuries and were treated by South Central Ambulance Service. Another man escaped unscathed. Fire crews from Broughton and Great Holm attended, along with an officer.
