M25 Chaos: Two Lorry Smash Closes Lanes, Drivers Face Hour-Long Delays
The M25 is in gridlock this morning after a nasty collision between two lorries snarled traffic between Enfield and Waltham Abbey.
Two Lanes Shut, Massive Tailbacks
The crash blocked two lanes on the anticlockwise stretch between junction 26 (A121 Waltham Abbey) and junction 25 (A10), sparking severe delays. Traffic website Inrix reported congestion backing up to M11 junction 27 and through Waltham Abbey itself.
Holmesdale Tunnel Bottleneck and Earlier Bumps Make It Worse
The smash happened in lanes one and two inside the four-lane Holmesdale Tunnel. Adding insult to injury, a minor earlier accident near the Bell Common Tunnel slowed queues even more.
Commuters should brace for a slog with journey times stretched to around 1 hour and 20 minutes. Avoid if you can!
