M40 Chaos: Serious Crash Closes Key Stretch This Morning
A major collision involving four vehicles, including a van and an HGV, has shut the M40 northbound between junction 12 (Gaydon) and junction 13 (Warwick). Road closures are set to stay in place until later this morning, causing heavy disruption for drivers.
Traffic Diverted – Avoid the Area if You Can
Traffic is being rerouted via the B4100 and A452, with motorists advised to follow these diversions and find alternative routes where possible. The M40 will be accessible again at junction 14.
Police Appeal: Patience Urged During Investigation
Sergeant Darren Kearns from Warwickshire Police said: “We appreciate this incident will cause significant disruption for motorists this morning and we would ask that they please be patient and bear with us while we deal with the incident. As I’m sure the public can understand, we are investigating a serious collision which will take several hours to complete. We are working with partners to open the road as soon as possible and minimise closure times. Officers are also monitoring surrounding areas to help ease any traffic build-up. We thank everyone for their support and understanding at this time.”
