Massive Fireball Crash Brings M40 to a Standstill!
A fiery smash on the M40 southbound near Leamington, Warwickshire has caused chaos this morning, January 9th. Two vehicles collided and erupted into a towering fireball, shooting flames 30 feet into the air. The blaze nearly ignited nearby trees at a service station, triggering a dramatic rush hour nightmare.
30-Mile Tailback Brings Commuters to a Halt
The crash, which happened between junctions 12 and 13 around 7.30am, has triggered an enormous 30-mile traffic jam. Motorists are stuck as emergency crews work to clear the scene following the fiery wreck.
Five People Escape Flames with Minor Injuries
Remarkably, no serious injuries were reported despite the intense blaze. Five people were involved, including two children. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said:
“On arrival, crews discovered a car and a van had collided and both caught fire. Thankfully, all occupants managed to get out in time, avoiding what could have been a catastrophic outcome.”
The spokesman added that a man and woman from the car, along with two children, were treated and released at the scene. The van’s driver also suffered only minor injuries.
M40 Remains Closed as Investigation Continues
Southbound lanes remain shut while police and fire teams deal with the aftermath. Drivers are advised to avoid the area or expect lengthy delays on what is turning into a chaotic morning for commuters.
