Fire Breaks Out on Elgin Avenue

A man has died following a devastating fire in a bin store at the rear of a property on Elgin Avenue, Maida Hill. The blaze sparked serious emergency response efforts on Sunday afternoon.

Rapid Emergency Response

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) rushed to the scene after receiving nine emergency calls, with the first arriving at 12:31 PM on February 9. Three fire engines from North Kensington, West Hampstead, and Hammersmith fire stations battled the flames that completely destroyed the bin store.

Despite firefighters’ best efforts, a man suffering from serious injuries was taken to hospital but later died.

Investigation Underway

Fire crews brought the fire under control by 1:30 PM, but the exact cause remains undetermined. Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly blaze.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant CCTV or doorbell footage to come forward and assist with the investigation.
