Man Critically Injured as Car Flips on M60 in Early Morning Smash

A serious crash on the M60 in Greater Manchester has left one man fighting for his life after his car flipped onto its roof. The terrifying accident happened around 5:45am, sparking a road closure and a police plea for witnesses.

M60 Shut Between Stockport and Denton After Car Overturns

The anti-clockwise carriageway of the M60 is completely closed between Junction 27 near Stockport and Junction 24 at Denton. Reports say the vehicle slammed into the nearside barrier before rolling over and coming to rest upside down.

Emergency Crews Rush Injured Driver to Hospital

Fire crews from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue and paramedics from North West Ambulance Service raced to the scene. The driver suffered critical injuries and was rushed to Salford Royal Hospital for urgent treatment.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward as Investigation Underway

The North West Motorway Police Group are probing the crash to find out how it happened. A police spokesperson said:

“We have a serious incident ongoing on the M60 between Junction 25 and Junction 24. The carriageway is completely closed, and we will be releasing trapped traffic shortly. The diversion for the full closure is indicated by a solid circle.”

Authorities are calling on anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to contact police to assist their investigation.

Traffic Diversion in Place – Plan Your Route

Drivers heading anti-clockwise on the M60 should take the following diversion at Junction 27:

  1. Take the 1st exit onto the A626 northbound at the roundabout.
  2. Continue to the B6167 roundabout and take the 4th exit onto the B6167 northbound.
  3. At the A57 roundabout, turn right onto the A57 eastbound.
  4. Re-join the M60 at Junction 24.

Motorists are advised to allow extra journey time or delay travel if possible while the closure remains in place.
