Man Seriously Injured in Explosion at Burntwood Flats
A man is fighting for his life after an explosion rocked a block of flats on Chase Road, Burntwood, Staffordshire. Emergency crews scrambled to the scene around 9 p.m. on Monday following frantic reports of a blast.
Firefighters and Ambulance Rush to Scene
Five fire crews and West Midlands Ambulance Service were quick to respond. The injured man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where he remains in critical condition. Luckily, no one else was hurt.
As a safety step, five nearby flats were evacuated while fire teams worked to make the area safe.
Police Launch Full Investigation
The cause of the explosion is still a mystery. Staffordshire Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
“Anyone who saw anything or has any information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police immediately,” officials said.
