Shock Crash in Rushey Green: Pedestrian Seriously Hurt in Early Morning Smash

A 54-year-old man was left seriously injured after a van smashed into him at around 7am on Saturday, October 18, near Lewisham High Street.

The chaos saw police, London Ambulance Service, Fire Brigade, and London’s Air Ambulance rush to the scene. The badly hurt pedestrian was quickly rushed to hospital, initially unresponsive and his condition uncertain.

Police Confirm Life-Changing Injuries, No Arrests Yet

At around 07:00hrs on Saturday, 18 October, police responded to a report of a road traffic collision between a van and a pedestrian in Lewisham High Street, SE13,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.

“A 54-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. We await an update on his condition. There have been no arrests and enquiries are ongoing.”
