Microsoft Chaos Hits Thousands: Azure, Minecraft, 365 All Down

Thousands of Microsoft users have been left fuming today as major services like Azure, Microsoft 365, and Minecraft crash globally. Downdetector reports a spike in problems, with over 1,800 Minecraft players, 1,500 Azure users, and 800 Microsoft 365 customers all facing issues right now.

Angry Users Take To Social Media In Frenzy

Frustration is boiling over online. One X user vented: “Gonna punch someone in the face and cry why can’t I access f*****g Microsoft Teams how am I meant to do any revision.” Another pointed the finger at Azure: “Microsoft Azure services are down globally. That could be causing the issue, it’s taken Minecraft down.”

Even healthcare isn’t spared. Benenden Hospital in Kent tweeted: “Due to a Microsoft outage across Europe, patients may experience issues logging into My Patient Hub. Please check back for updates. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Microsoft Confirms Outage, Promises Updates

Microsoft has admitted there’s a problem and is on the case. Azure support tweeted: “We are investigating reports of issues connecting to Microsoft services in Europe. More details will be provided as they become available on the Azure status page.”

Meanwhile, Microsoft 365 stated: “We’re currently investigating access issues and degraded performance with multiple Microsoft 365 services and features. More info under MO842351 in the admin centre.”

History Repeats: Another Microsoft Meltdown

This latest disruption follows a huge Microsoft IT outage just weeks ago that threw airlines, trains, GP surgeries, and businesses into chaos worldwide.

What’s Downdetector?

Downdetector is the go-to website where users report issues with popular services like X, Instagram, Facebook, and Virgin Media. It only flags problems when reports spike way above normal for that time, so it’s a reliable early warning system for IT disasters.

Stay Updated

Microsoft is still digging into the root cause of today’s turmoil. Users are urged to keep an eye on the Azure status page and Microsoft 365 admin centre for the latest developments.
