Brace Yourself: Snow, Ice and Gales Stirring Up UK Weather
This week, much of the UK faces unsettled weather with snow and ice hitting the north first. But don’t get your woollies out just yet — things warm up later in the week.
Severe Weather Warnings in Force
The Met Office has issued multiple National Severe Weather Warnings for wind, snow, and ice. And keep your eyes peeled — more warnings could be on the way.
Blustery Start, Arctic Snap Returns
Met Office Chief Forecaster Dan Suri explains what’s coming:
“A low pressure area pushing east has brought a mild, blustery start to the week with showers and coastal gales in England and Wales. But Arctic maritime air is clawing back from the north, delivering snow and frosty nights for some.”
“Later in the week, expect milder, wetter, and windier weather rolling in from the west. But before that, northern England and Scotland will see some snow, especially over higher ground on Wednesday.”
Weekend Weather: Milder but Unsettled
Look out for a warm-up across most of the UK, but northern Scotland might stay chilly with occasional snow, possibly touching lower areas. Where the cold and mild front line up over the weekend remains uncertain, so stay tuned.
