Mobile Madness on the Isle of Wight: O2, Vodafone and More Hit by Major Signal Outage

Isle of Wight phone users face a mobile meltdown today as O2, GiffGaff, Tesco Mobile, and Vodafone suffer widespread signal failures. Calls, texts, and data have all gone AWOL, especially around Newport, thanks to urgent network maintenance.

O2 Issues Apology as Network Goes Dark

O2 confirmed the disruption, saying: “We’re carrying out some upgrade work to improve our network. While we do this, you might have some trouble with your calls, texts and data.”

The network promised swift action with full service back by 6pm on Thursday, July 18.

Vodafone Also Hit but Others Escape Unscathed

Vodafone users are in the same boat, expecting normal service to resume tomorrow. Meanwhile, Three, EE, and BT Mobile customers can breathe easy – their networks are running smooth as ever.
