McVitie’s Shrinks Jaffa Cakes Box, Fans Furious!

Britain’s beloved Jaffa Cakes have been hit by shrinkflation, sparking outrage nationwide. McVitie’s has slashed the number of cakes in a standard box from 12 down to 10.

The result? Your usual pack drops from 146.6g to just 122g. But don’t worry, McVitie’s says the individual cakes haven’t changed in size or weight.

Jaffa Cake Fans Left Fuming

Shoppers took to social media in disbelief as the familiar 12-pack vanished from shelves, replaced by a tinier option offering fewer cakes for the same price.

McVitie’s Defends the Decision

“We have taken the decision to adjust the pack size of our McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes,” a company spokesman explained. “There is no change in the size, shape or weight of individual cakes in the McVitie’s Jaffa Cake range.”

Shrinkflation Strikes Again

This is the latest example of shrinkflation squeezing British food lovers. While prices stay steady, the quantity drops — leaving fans paying the same for less.

Keep your eyes peeled on the shelves. Your favourite sweet treat just got a whole lot smaller.
