New CCTV Footage Brings Hope in Search for Missing TV Doctor on Greek Island

Fresh CCTV footage sheds new light on the disappearance of British TV doctor Michael Mosley, who vanished while holidaying on the stunning Greek island of Symi. The clips show Dr Mosley confidently making his way along a perilous coastal path, dashing fears that he might have fallen.

Safe Steps Captured on Rocky Path

The footage, filmed by a restaurant in Pedi, captures Dr Mosley crossing a treacherous path from St. Nikolas beach to the village of Pedi. Earlier, rescuers had been alarmed when he left his wife behind, fearing the worst. Yet the images confirm he reached the village safely, putting initial fears to rest.

Divers, Drones, and Dogs Join Search Effort

Despite the hopeful footage, the search is far from over. Divers are combing the waters around Symi as part of a full-scale search-and-rescue operation. Authorities have deployed drones and sniffer dogs in a bid to locate the missing TV personality, who disappeared after setting off on a walk from Saint Nikolas Beach.

Locals and Officials Remain Optimistic

Symi’s mayor, Eleftherios Papakalodoukas, expressed confidence that Dr Mosley will be found. “It is a very small, controlled area, full of people,” he said. “If something happened to him there, we would have found him by now.” Meanwhile, the local coastguard has mobilised all available patrol boats, including private and commercial vessels, to scour the coastline.

High Temperatures Hamper Search but Hope Remains

The operation continues amid soaring temperatures reaching 36°C (97°F) on the island. Authorities and loved ones remain hopeful Dr Mosley will be located soon, bringing an end to a worrying ordeal. The doctor, famous for popularising the 5:2 diet and appearing on shows like The One Show and This Morning, vanished during what was meant to be a peaceful walk.
